Western Union signs cross-border business payments deal with Manentia in Latin America

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay, July 19, 2016 – Western Union Business Solutions (WUBS), a leader in global payment services, announced a multi-year collaboration with Manentia, to give banks and their clients in Latin America greater access to international payment services.

The alliance will bring WUBS’ international payment infrastructure to Manentia’s banking clients, enabling them to access fast and easy international transfers in over 130 currencies. Banks using Manentia’s flagship virtual banking platform, Nazca, will be able to facilitate payments for business clients through both traditional SWIFT channels and through international domestic payment gateways.

Manentia provides information technology and services to financial institutions across Latin America to support them in building profitable virtual channels. Its flagship product, Nazca, is a technology platform that allows financial companies to access reliable internet and mobile banking systems.

WUBS is a leading nonbank provider of cross border payments, enabling banks and companies of all sizes to send and receive international payments and manage global cash flow. This deal will open up the global marketplace for banks and businesses based in Latin America by giving them access to a world-class international payments infrastructure, supported by WUBS’ network of trading offices, strategic banking relationships and a global clearing network.

“Western Union Business Solutions is committed to bringing our cross border payment technology and payment infrastructure to Latin America. The fact that Manentia’s sole focus is on digital banking innovation made our collaboration a great fit.  We look forward to bringing our robust payment infrastructure to Manentia’s client base,”  said Alfred Nader, Vice President of Latin America and the Caribbean for Western Union Business Solutions.

“Our clients range from multi-national banks to regional players, but they have something in common: the desire to bring the best online banking experience to their clients,”  said Claudia Fernández, CEO of Manentia.“Giving them access to a first class payment infrastructure fits well with our strategy of meeting our clients’ demands for having access to the best in banking technology.”
